About Us
Teesdale Alpacas is a small, family-run alpaca farm nestled in the Durham Dales near Barnard Castle, offering visitors a peaceful rural escape with up‑close alpaca encounters. The farm breeds alpacas (and a few llamas), and invites guests to enjoy guided walks or treks through the countryside, led by friendly animals that are often ready for gentle handling and petting.
Walks typically last around 1.5 hours and include time to meet the herd, hand‑feed alpacas, and learn about their care. For a more relaxed visit, the farm also offers shorter farm‑visit sessions — ideal for families wanting a quieter experience with nature. Children from around age six are welcome (with adult supervision), making Teesdale Alpacas a suitable destination for families, couples or anyone looking for a gentle outdoor outing.
With its intimate scale, calm atmosphere and focus on animal welfare, Teesdale Alpacas offers a warm, welcoming and memorable countryside experience for visitors seeking a connection with nature.
