Longdown Activity Farm: New Forest Fun and Animal Encounters

Longdown Activity Farm, located in Ashurst on the edge of the picturesque New Forest National Park near Southampton, offers a hands-on farm experience that is a fantastic day out for the whole family.

The farm’s core attraction is its extensive daily schedule of farming activities, which is included in the admission price. Visitors can participate in bottle-feeding tiny kid goats and calves, meet adorable small animals like chicks and guinea pigs in the Animal Encounter Barn, and feed the ducks and larger farm residents. Other friendly animals to meet include cows, Pygmy goats, alpacas, donkeys, pigs, and the gentle Shire horse, Blue.

In addition to the animals, the farm provides numerous play options, including a fun (and bumpy!) tractor and trailer ride (ground conditions permitting), trampolines, go-karts, ride-on toy tractors, a sandpit with mud kitchens and diggers, a simulated play-yard to help clean out the animals, and a Pitchfork and Putt crazy golf course. The park is highly inclusive, featuring an all-inclusive outdoor play area with an accessible swing for wheelchair users and a dedicated Changing Places facility. Before leaving, visitors can browse the Longdown Farm Shop for a large selection of delicious, locally sourced produce.
