About Us

Lancaster Park & Animal Farm is a family-run children's petting zoo in Chadderton, near Oldham, that offers a great value and hands-on experience for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to meet, touch, and feed a diverse range of over 50 farm and domesticated animals, including horses, sheep, miniature donkeys, Pygmy goats, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even giant tortoises. Many of these animals have been rescued by the farm's dedicated staff.

Beyond the close encounters in the Petting Barn and around the scenic Nature Walk, the park offers a range of fun activities. Children can enjoy two different play areas complete with swings, slides, and zip lines. For an extra treat, they can take a bumpy ride on the Caterpillar barrel ride, race electric mini-quads on the Rooster Rally track, or dig for treasure at Digger Island. The farm operates on a cash-only basis for admission, snacks, and optional rides. It is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during term time, and daily during school holidays, making it a perfect spot to bring a picnic and make a day of it.
