About Us
Hadleigh Farm is a historic and dynamic 900-acre estate in Essex, managed by The Salvation Army since 1891. Founded on the mission to provide life-changing training and support, its core purpose remains to empower vulnerable adults with additional support needs through vocational programs at the Hadleigh Training Centre.
The farm is a key destination for families and nature lovers alike. Visitors can explore the Rare Breeds Centre, dedicated to conserving unique UK livestock like Middle White Pigs and Bagot Goats through interactive family encounters. The wider estate offers vast open spaces, a working commercial farm committed to environmental stewardship, and the challenging 2012 Olympic mountain biking course.
Additionally, the farm sits adjacent to the impressive 14th-century Hadleigh Castle (English Heritage), offering stunning views over the Thames Estuary. It is a unique destination that beautifully blends social mission, agricultural heritage, and outdoor adventure.
